Scope: In civil engineering applications System Identification algorithms are used to estimate the dynamic characteristics of structures using accelerometer data. The dynamic characteristics of structures, namely natural frequencies, damping ratios and mode shapes are fundamental properties for the SHM. These parameters are used for further analysis and identify possible damage in structures. System Identification Software developed by MATRiSEB performs estimation of dynamic parameters of the structures using ambient (output-only) vibration data. The input data of the software is accelerometer measurements obtained from instrumented building. The output data of the software is the dynamic parameters of the building, namely natural frequencies, damping ratios and mode shapes.
